As I have been out selling this book many people have wondered where I got the idea for the story, so I'll tell you. In 1975 I started teaching third and fourth grade in Rigby, Idaho. While in Idaho there was an abundance of snow. I loved to watch it snow and I loved to play in it with my children. At one point in the school that I was teaching at my classroom was in the school library. So, I had time to read a lot of books. Some books were very poorly written in my opinion. It was at that point when I decided to write a children's book, after all how hard could that be I thought.
As the snowflakes were falling, ideas came into my head to write about a snowflake. So Snowy Snowflake was born. I continued working on this story off and on for about 10 years. Then around 1989 I got serious about this and finished it. I met Grant Minson at an art studio in Pleasant Grove, Utah. After reading the manuscript, he decided to illustrate it and the rest is history.
I am working on two more children's books.
If you would like to purchase a copy send a check or money order for $5.00 + $1.50 (S&H) to
McArthur Enterprises, 911 West 180 South, Orem, Utah 84058
My goal is to sell 35,000 - 40,000 copies so I can get my other two books out to the public.
I would also like to be able to donate books to underprivileged children.
